Mesites Foundation’s mission to educate undergraduate students in the practice of conflict transformation is shared by another Pittsburgh-based nonprofit organization, Mediators without Borders (MWOB). MWOB was created by Mesites Foundation’s co-founder, Robert Creo, with the intention of providing pro bono mediation services in countries with a history of violence and conflict. In each locale, teams of volunteer mediators work with the local community to establish peace and resolve conflict through alternative dispute resolution practices.
College students are invited to participate in MWOB’s internship program, which provides valuable experience and education in the field of international conflict transformation. Interns gain practical work experience in areas such as country research, development, and communications, as well as a basic introduction to the field of conflict resolution. All internships will take place in our Pittsburgh office. There are three internship terms each year:

Interested students should submit a resume together with a letter of interest. Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit. Internship applications are accepted on a rolling basis according to the recommended application submission dates above.
Internships are unpaid. Students who desire work-study or course credit must secure approval from the appropriate individual or department at their school. A minimum time commitment of ten (10) hours per week is required for all internships.
